"I want to win the Champions League and titles with the national team," Joshua Kimmich has recently said in a Sport Bild interview. When one takes a glance at the statistics of the 25-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder, then it quickly becomes apparent that his chances for more titles are very high. This millennium, Kimmich has been the player with the second-lowest loss ration among players that have played 100 games or more—only players in the top five leagues and their respective cup competitions were considered.

A Transfermarkt database analysis showed that Kimmich had lost just 9.5% of his games: 21 of 220 games. The statistic underlines Bayern's dominance of the German Bundesliga. In David Alaba (13.5%), Thomas Müller (13.4%), Lucas Hernández (12,7%), Thiago (12,4%), and Kingsley Coman (11,4%) five more Bayern players make the top 25.

The last three also benefit from the fact that they already played for top clubs before they joined Bayern. Coman managed 26 appearances for Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, Hernández played for Atlético Madrid and Thiago for Barcelona—all clubs that seldom lose games.

Alongside FC Bayern: Players from Barça and PSG dominate

It is not a surprise that alongside Bayern, players from Barça and PSG dominate the statistic. Among the top 25 players, there are nine players that are currently or were previously under contract at the Catalans and ten players that earn or earned their money in the French capital—Zlatan Ibrahimović, who is ranked 25th with a loss ratio of 13.8%, as well as Neymar (20th), and Maxwell (ninth), played for both clubs. On top of that, Maxwell also won three championships with Inter Milan

One other Bundesliga player, however, has a lower loss ratio than Kimmich. Christopher Nkunku transferred from PSG to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2019. The French midfielder only looses 9.2% of his games (11 of 120 games)—Thursday's game against Atlético Madrid was not yet included in that statistic.

Ronaldo & Co. not in the top 25 - Invincible Bergkamp makes the cut

Some big names like Cristiano Ronaldo (14.1%), Kylian Mbappé (14.4%), Arjen Robben (14.8%), or Thierry Henry (15.6%) are outside the top 25. The French striker benefited less from Arsenal's 2003/04 invincible season than his former teammate Dennis Bergkamp. The Dutch playmaker, who ended his career in 2006, lost just 12.3% of his games.
