Liverpool: Home streak ends after 1269 days - BVB & Bayern in to 20 since 2000
"It was a punch in the face," Jürgen Klopp said after Thursday's 1-0 defeat to Burnley. It was already Liverpool's fifth game in a row without a league victory; in four of those games, the Reds failed to score a goal. But Ashley Barnes' goal on Thursday ended a historic streak.
1269 days ago was the last time Liverpool lost a home game in the Premier League. During the club's 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace on Apr. 23, 2017, players like Simon Mignolet, Emre Can, or Philippe Coutinho were on the pitch at the Anfield Road. Klopp had been in charge for just one and a half years.
The impressive nature of Liverpool's 68 game run at home is even more impressive when compared internationally. Since 2000 only two teams playing in a top 10 league managed a longer run without a home defeat. Chelsea managed 1709 days without a defeat between 2004 and 2008. Porto's streak between 2008 and 2014 was even longer. The Portuguese club was undefeated for 1937 days.

Porto's record ended at 81 games. But while Chelsea collected two titles under José Mourinho (2005 & 2006), the Dragões managed to secure four titles (2009, 2011, 2012, 2013) and throughout two seasons managed to be not defeated at all.

Bayern lost 2-1 at home to Mainz, the Spaniard then handed over the club to Carlo Ancelotti ahead of the 2015/16 season. In charge for 14 months in Munich, the Italian never lost a game at home at the Allianz Arena; the same was the case under interim Willy Sagnol. The series was finally interrupted after 38 games under Jupp Heynckes—the club lost on matchday 34 of the 2017/18 season to VfB Stuttgart (1-4).
