Liverpool: Hertha BSC work on Grujic return - Alternative to Reine-Adélaïde
Not least because of Thiago’s arrival, Marko Grujic’s chances of regular playing time at Liverpool are anything but good. The 24-year-old is still waiting for his debut in the league, only played in the EFL Cup against third division club Lincoln City (7-2) and is therefore looking for a transfer. As Kicker reports, Hertha BSC are in contact with the Serb regarding a possible return – Transfermarkt can confirm this.
Grujic is in concrete talks with the club from the German capital, for which he already played on loan in the past two seasons. However, Hertha are by far not the only club showing interest in the right-footed midfielder, and much still depends on further developments in Hertha’s squad.
An agreement with former Arsenal player Jeff Reine-Adélaïde reported by some media outlets was denied by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas on Wednesday. “But Hertha are currently pressing harder than the others,” the 71-year-old said. If a deal is struck with OL, a Grujic return is likely to be off the table, especially as a central midfielder has already been added this summer in record signing Lucas Tousart.
