LA Galaxy reached out to Lionel Messi - Inquired about future
Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy have reached out to Lionel Messi's father Jorge to inquire about the Barcelona star's future, according to a report by Radio Continental in Argentina.
The contact was made by LA Galaxy's Argentine head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto. Schelotto wanted to sound out Messi's future and possibly plant the seed of a future transfer to MLS.
Messi would not be the first high profile player to sign for the Galaxy. In 2007 the club signed David Beckham in a deal that in its entirety was worth $250 million.
Then in 2018, the club signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Manchester United. This winter the Galaxy signed Chicharito in what has been the latest in a series of blockbuster deals. Could Messi be next?
