Hulk confirms offers from England: “Have a very big name in the market”

In summer 2016, Hulk moved to Shanghai SIPG in China for just under €56 million – two weeks ago, the 34-year-old Brazilian confirmed that he does not want to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the year. However, as he explained in an interview with Brazilian newspaper Lance, he does not worry about his future. There is interest in him from England among other countries.

“I will not renew my contract. Since the announcement I have received many offers from Brazil and some European countries such as Turkey, Portugal, England, Spain, Italy and Germany,” Hulk said (quoted via A Bola). Most recently, the striker, behind fellow countryman Oscar the most expensive transfer in the history of the Chinese Super League, had stressed that he is “not primarily” interested in money. A transfer next winter should be of particular interest to clubs, especially because they will not have to pay fee, although his salary, even with significant reductions, could probably only be paid by top clubs.

“More offers come in every day. I have a very big name in the market. The clubs follow my game and I can prove myself, that helps a lot. I leave the rest to my advisors,” Hulk continued. In China, matches resumed last weekend, with Shanghai SIPG winning 3-1 against Tianjin Teda to start the season. Hulk did not score a goal, but showed himself confident afterwards: “I am in good physical shape. I will concentrate on my work here over the next few weeks, the rest will come automatically.”
