Doneil Henry joins LAFC - Former Whitecaps defender was a free agent
Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC have added Canadian men's national team defender Doneil Henry. The former Vancouver Whitecaps defender joins on a free transfer after his contract at the Korean club Suwon Bluewings expired at the end of 2021.
"Doneil is a veteran and athletic defender who brings incredible international and MLS experience to our Club," LAFC general manager John Thorrington said in a club statement. "During his time in Europe and with the Canadian National team he has shown that he will add a strong presence to our backline."
A 42-times Canadian national team player, Henry is an MLS veteran. The center-back has featured in 109 games (six goals) for Toronto FC and the Whitecaps. Henry moved to Suwon on a free transfer following the 2019 MLS season.
