Borussia Mönchengladbach want Marko Grujić - Entire package to cost €18m?
Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach want to sign Liverpool's Marko Grujić, according to reports by Serbian media and Bild. The Serbian national team player is currently on loan at Hertha Berlin where he spent the last two seasons.
On Saturday Gladbach face Hertha on the final matchday of the season. Gladbach are currently two points and nine goals ahead of Bayer Leverkusen and need at least one point to secure a Champions League spot. The Foals, however, will have to be strategic with their Champions League money. Gladbach are already linked with Canadian striker Jonathan David, his deal will likely eat up a significant portion of next year's budget.
As a result, media are speculating that Gladbach's head coach Marco Rose wants to use his connections to Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp to put together a loan-to-buy deal. Gladbach would loan Grujić for one season and then sign the Serbian for €18 million on a more permanent deal in the summer of 2021, which would make him the third most expensive signing in the club's history.
